Understanding Affiliate Marketing
In simplest terms, affiliate marketing is just selling someone else’s product for a commission. The first thing you would do is join an affiliate network. These are free to join and there are hundreds of them out there. The more popular ones are Neverblue, CJ, and Clickbank. Most newbie affiliate marketers start out with Clickbank. Clickbank pays every two weeks so if you start today you could see a check in your mailbox in a few weeks.
What you need to understand before you jump into this business is that it takes work. It will actually take a lot of work when you are first starting out. Unless you have money to spare, and most newbies don’t, you will spend a lot of time writing articles and doing other techniques that will help you generate traffic to your website or blog. Now don’t get scared because you heard me say you will have a website or blog.
These are nothing fancy. You can simply go to blogger and set up a free blog. Write 5 or 6 articles then post them to your blog. You can now start driving traffic to that blog. Don’t back this super hard and complicated. Yes there will be a learning curve but this is not rocket science. Once you learn about keywords and choosing profitable products you are ready to roll.
I strongly encourage anyone who is looking for a way to make money online to try out affiliate marketing. You don’t have to worry about anything other then traffic generation. It’s a great place to start.
