Traffic Management, the Key to Internet Marketing
I understand that many people online need advice on how to get people to their websites. In this article I would like to discuss some of the important aspects of setting up their website to optimise their chances. If their websites have a lot of traffic then their chances of being successful internet marketer increases greatly.
When I first started learning website optimisation many people were sure that the search engines were looking at many key words or key word phrases. That is terms that the searcher would type into the search engine to find a given subject. There seemed to be a lot of relevance placed on the correct phrases used as this was what certain search engines algorithms were looking for. To this day many believe this to be the case. There are many different courses out there that teach you how to do this, however there seems to be at least several other key factors in determining you page ranking.
One of these other aspects is in creating back links. If you have been very careful and have set up your correct phrases then you must also show the search engines that your site is popular and has plenty of back links.
What does this mean? Well back links is when another site hosts a link to your site. Basically they have a virtual button if pressed will take the reader to your site.
There are a few things that are important about back links. The first is that if they come from a higher ranking site than your own it seems to give you credit for this and pushes your ranking further up the search pages.
Secondly if you want to get in the top ten searches for a given key word phrase then your site should have more back links than the competing sites. It’s a little more complex than this but as you build your links the best ways will come with practise.
The final important aspect of getting traffic to your site is making your site search engine friendly. Initially I thought this was some dark art that the gurus selling you programs had made up. But if you site contains certain aspects the search engines can read it better, therefore will give your site more credit.
So to get more search engine traffic and to manage that traffic to your website you must firstly consider the key word phrases, secondly you need to have many back links to your site and finally you need to learn to build search engine friendly sites.
If you succeed in developing your site using these three critical factors you should be at least begin to realise your sites potential and your potential as an internet marketer.
