So What is Blogging?
The word blogging, is more or less posting on a blog, usually one which you own, owning a blog makes you a blogger. These are a few of the key words which you should know the definition of before starting to create your first web blog. Here is a quote from Blogger which is one of the largest free online blogging websites. "A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit A collaborative space A political soapbox A breaking-news outlet A collection of links Your own private thoughts Memos to the world." I do not think I'd be able to describe what a blog is any better then that.
Blogging, as I've already posted is posting a blog, now you may think, oh how can I earn money from just posting on a blog? There is a lot of money which you are able to earn from blogging, the downside to blogging is.
1. You're not going to get rich over night.
2. You have to work on your blog every day
3. You spend a lot of time working on your blog overall
Blogging is the same as owning your website, in order to run a good website, you need two things, good content and traffic. Both of these take time to build up, you can not fill up your blog with good unique content in a single day, nor can you get good recording targeted traffic in a hour. I personally spend under a hour posting on my blog each day, then around another hour researching and brainstorming ideas for future articles, then another two hours on working on my blogs SEO and gaining traffic. Comes to about 4-6 hours a day, although most of the time I am multitasking.
You simply are able to run a good blog without working on it every day, even when it's a very popular blog, you still need to remember the basics, building up back links, making sure you have good unique content, gaining more traffic. You look at websites (In general, not just blogs) such as eBay, they have millions of page views every single day, yet they still advertise, despite the fact that they are able to pay to broadcast TV adverts and what not, they are still trying to gain more traffic.
Earning money from your blog, can be done the day you open your blog, although earning money online one day is one thing, you want to have a monthly income which you maintain, there is no point in earning $ 100 one month, then $ 10 the next month.
There are two main sources of income for blogs, Google AdSense and also 'PTP', paid to post, hopefully you already know about Google AdSense, paid to post, or PTP, companies / people pay for a product on to your blog, there is a lot of money in this, but you need to have some good traffic and your blog usually needs to be online for a good few months before anyone will pay you for this.
