Making Money From Your Blog
If you have a blog that you invest any amount of time into, you probably would like to make some money from it. The question is how does a person make money from a blog? There are a lot of so-called make money online gurus who offer to tell you the answer to this question albeit for a price. The fact of the matter is that most of these gurus make money by telling other people how to make money online rather than actually making money online themselves.
So, can you make money online? Yes you can. But there are a couple of pitfalls that you need to be aware of. For instance there are certain ways to generate income that Google does not approve of. If you are using these methods then you will be penalized and may even be removed from their search index. A perfect example of this is selling links from your site. If you sell do-follow links you may be able to make a little bit of money, but it probably will not last as if you are caught you could lose your Page Rank or even be removed.
Therefore, it is best to stick to so-called approved methods for monetizing a blog. These include Google AdSense, selling no-follow ads, and promoting affiliate offers. Basically, the thing that you have to remember is that in order to make money from your blog you need to create a transaction or the possibility of a transaction. If a person comes to your blog and reads your post and leaves you do not make any money. Obviously, it would not be possible to make money since nothing has been bought or sold.
I repeat: To make money with a blog, money must at some point be transacted. Even when you are selling advertising and using AdSense there must be a transaction at some point for the earnings to be sustainable. If you are sending to a traffic to advertisers and that traffic is not converting you are going to either lose your advertisers or be smart priced.
So, this means that your strategy needs to be focused upon drawing traffic that will lead to a transaction at some point. Therefore, consider your traffic and whether or not you have "buying" traffic. For if you do not, you might find your possibilities of earning from your blog to be slim.
