Network Marketing is a phenomenal industry. As someone who has made her living for the past 18 years as a network marketer, I can attest to the fact that it does take persistence and commitment. I have always said that Network Marketing is a personal growth industry that happens to have a compensation plan attached to it. But, if you can stick with it long enough to get the personal growth, you will definitely get the compensation.

Tip # 1: Change your focus. There are lots of ways to make money but most people focus on the wrong things. Stop focusing on your existing negative situation or where you came from. This does not really matter. If you want your circumstance to change you have to focus on where you want to go. Do not give any more energy to where you are. People that justify where they are, stay where they are. There is no reason to bend everyone's ear with how bad things have been going for you. People have their own problems and talking about your negative situation just does not serve you or help your circumstance. Sometimes we can do this without even realizing it. Listen to your own words and when you catch yourself talking about your current situation, STOP immediately and switch your sentence to a different topic.
Tip # 2: Stop comparing yourself to others. Many people make this mistake. They compare themselves to someone that has achieved success at the level they wish they had. This is can be very debilitating. Just because someone has gotten to a certain promotion level faster than you or earned a certain income in record time, does not mean you should be jealous or even worse try to tear down their success. This is a waste of time and focuses on negative energy. The better approach is to use this successful person as an example to show yourself and your team what is possible in our great industry if you work.
Tip # 3: Define your target market. For example, stay at home moms, or disgruntled corporate workers or young college students that want to be in charge of their own destiny. Once you have done this, you have made the decision of who you want to work with. How cool is this! You get to decide who you want to interact with on a daily basis. But now that you have made this decision, what do you do? This brings me to the next tip.
Tip # 4: Figure out how demonstrate that you can solve your target market's problems. A stay at home mom for example may want to work when her children are napping or at school. Most jobs will not let you choose your schedule around these activities. But you can show her how she has this luxury with your opportunity. A disgruntled corporate employee, on the other hand, can be shown how to develop a Plan B with tax write-offs that can affect their pocket books immediately. You can help them prepare to exit the job they hate. And a new college graduate that may be having a problem finding a job can be shown how to start a very lucrative business in an industry that is part of the new economy; an economy that focuses on rewarding for performance. Put your strategy together to help others earn an income and your own income will be guaranteed.
Remember, as I said, this is a personal growth industry. It is not a lottery ticket. If you focus on learning how to help others while learning yourself, you will have success beyond your wildest imagination.
