The first thing I do, before I go to bed, should an idea pop into my head, is get a pad and a pen and write down the main idea itself. Then I write down a few bullet points underneath the main idea. These bullet points are there to highlight main actions that I know I’ll need to take in order to make my idea come to life. As you do this more and more, you’ll get a better feel for what those actions are. Let me give you a specific example of one idea I had and how I brought it into being.
I had an idea for a product that would be a comprehensive instructional package. It would be massive. But because of its scope, I also knew that I couldn’t release it all at one time or people would be overwhelmed. So I decided that I would break the package down into 12 monthly installments and at the same time, offer support for those 12 months so that if there were any questions or problems, I would be there to answer them. I had to decide how the product would be delivered and in what format. All these items I then jotted down under the main idea.
I then called it a night.
The next morning, looked at my list and started putting those ideas into action.
The first thing I did was start to put together the initial parts of the product that would be released right away. I then started to put together the system I was going to use to deliver the product over the next 12 months. As I completed each part of the project, I would check it off my list until every part was completed.
It’s a logical, step by step process. If you take it one step at a time and make sure you cover all your bases, you’ll be surprised how quickly you can put YOUR ideas into action.
To YOUR Success,
