Internet Marketing Tips – Beware of Fraud
I don’t like to think about these things but there are a few people out there who will try to cheat you out of your products and services. So while I don’t like to dwell on the negative, you need to be aware of the kind of stunts that people will pull. This article will alert you to some common things that you’re going to run into in the course of doing business online. If you know what to look out for, you can protect yourself against this kind of fraud.
Probably the most common kind of fraud is when somebody contacts you and says that they purchased your product and their computer crashed and they need you to resend it. They’ll then send you a receipt that looks official enough. Your first impulse will be to simply send them the product. Well, you might want to check that receipt first. Receipts are very easy to fake nowadays. Fortunately, most payments come with the email address of the person who made the payment. So simply ask the person what that email address was. If it’s fraud, they won’t be able to tell you.
Another kind of fraud is when somebody will contact you and tell you that they purchased one of your PLR products from another vendor but their PC crashed and they need you to resend it because they can’t get a hold of the vendor. In these cases, the person is just trying to get the product directly from your for free. There is no other vendor. Easy way to verify this is to have them send the receipt from the vendor and then you check your own receipts to see if this person is authorized to sell your product. If not, write back to the customer and tell them you’re sorry but they’re going to have to contact the vendor they purchased the product from.
In most cases of fraud, when you confront the person, they don’t respond. It’s sad to think that stuff like this goes on, but it does. So just be aware of it and don’t automatically send your products to people just because they say they lost it, didn’t get it, or whatever.
