Internet Marketing Tips – Are You Afraid To Take Chances?
There’s an old saying. Well, I think it’s an old saying. It goes something like, “The greater the risk, the greater the reward.” Know what? It’s true. It wasn’t until I started taking chances online that I began to see a big increase in my success. But taking chances by itself is not the answer. You need to take calculated chances. In other words, you need to rig the game just a little bit. In this article, I’m going to give you a few ideas to do just that. They do work. I can say that from personal experience.
The first thing you have to understand is that in today’s Internet, video is huge. The cutting edge marketers are using it. But they’re not just using it in a bland and boring way. They’re using it in outrageous ways that are sure to get your attention. If you want an example of what I am talking about, go to one of Jason Moffett’s videos. The guy is totally off the wall. Yes, he takes chances. Some of his videos may even offend you. But the guy gets results. You could learn a lot from him.
Another way to take chances is with your blog. Do you remember the movie “Network” with William Holden and Peter Finch? Peter Finch won an Oscar for his performance. Unfortunately, he died before he was able to accept it. Anyway, Finch was the one who spoke those now immortal lines, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.” He played a newsman who was so out there. Every night he’d scream about more injustices of the world. Well, maybe you don’t have a TV station but you do have a blog. Certainly you can put one up. Why not make some posts to really get people riled up? Don’t be afraid to be controversial. By doing this, you WILL get people to pay attention to you.
Another way to take chances, and this may be the most effective way yet, is with your products. Make a new definition for the word overdeliver. I do this every time I come out with a product that somebody else would easily sell for $197 and I’m only charging about 50 bucks for. I get a lot of dirty looks from other marketers but my customers love me.
Bottom line is this. Unless you are willing to take chances, you are going to blend in with every other Tom, Dick and Mary out there.
And that is no way to make a name for yourself.
To YOUR Success,
