Internet Marketing Strategies – Using Surveys For List Building and Product Creation
If you are smart you can use surveys for two internet marketing strategies-list building AND product creation.
One of the most profitable things you can do is to have your own products. But what if you don’t have a product and you don’t know what kind of product to create? Or maybe you have a product but don’t know where to go from here?
Conduct a survey! You can poll your audience…people in your niche…and get data from them. They will tell you exactly what they want to know! By asking what people are looking for you can easily have a steady stream of fresh ideas with the exact type of information they are looking for. This is way faster and more profitable than guessing at what people want!
You can get the double whammy of product creation and list building by running ads to drive traffic to your surveys! Since I’m really into list building I will hammer that home…top of your internet marketing strategies list is building your list first and then creating your product second!
I have had great success running Good AdWords ads to drive traffic to niche websites…when I run a survey I get to see the questions that are asked over and over again. That gives me ammunition I need to create a solid product…and also builds my list!
I like to integrate my autoresponder system with my survey-that way my list is growing (see the theme here?) and I can follow up on the data I gather. I put it into the autoresponder system so that when people join my list in the future they will also get the survey. That way the survey is ever growing.
With an ever growing survey the information you get is going to change over time so you will always have new content for creating products. So when I ask “what is your biggest question about X” today I will get one bunch of responses…the same question six months from now might lead me to create an entirely different set of products!
So you can use surveys to guide you to create a brand new product if you are just starting out…and you can use surveys to create products that go deeper into your existing niche. For example, we do a survey of our list building club members about the content…that gives us direction for the next several months of content. You can find out questions your current subscribers have about your niche or existing products and then build the answers into your next product or products.
No matter whether you are doing a first level survey or digging deeper, set yourself up for success by using your surveys to do double duty-list building and directing you for creating your own products. This allows you to take one action (conducting the survey) and leverage that information to fill two different internet marketing strategies…very cool!
