Internet & Affiliate Marketing – Ways That Work
The reason for this article is to show you ways you can start out in the internet and affiliate marketing arena. This is just one of the many ways you can start out. As we start to explore this wide open online world of marketing, it’s important to say that there are enough ways to work this type of business, that there are no right or wrongs. You can start off simple and free, or you can start off with some money and fast track it a bit, I’ll explain this more later. For now, I would like to explain some basics of internet marketing.
There are several ways to start to get into internet marketing, advertising being the most used in all ways of marketing. When you are placing ads on your blogs, in ezines, in forums, social networking site, etc., you must have the right audience for your particular product(s). You have to be able to target your potential buyers by finding the correct areas to place the ads. Such as selling metal parts to companies that manufacture products with metal parts for instance. And to sell those items, you will need to come up with some sharp and well thought out ad copy to get their attention. Another item in the chain of events in internet marketing is to get yourself a web page. If you get the chance, look at my web page, it is just a basic page I am constantly changing and working on. It has links to other pages in my domain such as ‘About me’, ‘Sign up’ and other affiliate product info pages, as well as links to my Squidoo lens, Blog and my space pages. These pages are important to let my visitors get several options to what they are there for. Such as if they are interested in Google AdWords products, I have a section with links to several of these product pages I made that describe them in detail. Plus, they can click on links there to go to the product sales pitch page that the product designer made to sell the item. And if that visitor gets that far and decides to purchase the product, I will get my affiliate commission from the sale.
You need to set up a sign up page or a squeeze page, to get visitors to sign up for free products or a newsletter. Then the next step is to collect their name and e-mail and place that in my e-mail list, and promptly send them out a response giving the free items links. This is done by the use of an auto response application or online service, which automatically sends out responses, as well as other periodical offers or articles to the customers.
A good way of driving traffic to your site or blog, is to do what I’m doing here, article marketing. Write an article such as this one, and many more, submit them, in time this gets your name out there as an expert in your niche area. Also a good way to get traffic is to set up a blog and start using it as a back link while you are commenting on others blogs in your niche. This will get you many back links to your blog, hence traffic to follow and you get better search engine ranks as well.
