How to Make Money in Nursing
Before I answer the question on how to make money in nursing, lets take a look at some statistics from the U.S. Department of Labor.
Back in 2008 the median annual wage for registered nurses was just below $63,000. The middle 50 percent earned between $51,640 and $76,570. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $43,410, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $92,240.
Determining where you might fit in within this range results from a variety of factors including an RN’s overall experience, the school they attended or the state where you work.
New graduate nurses in California make between $40 to $46 per hour, depending on geographic location.
The highest starting salaries in California are around $83,000 per year. And in some areas, sign on bonuses are being advertised at up to $10,000.
The more education and experience you have, the more money you can earn. For example nurse practitioners make over $89,000 per year.
Try working for a wellness company I have met many nurses that do this business..This could be great for you..I agree, a lot of these work from home things are scams.
Some nurses have taken the Business Franchise/Dealership with some of the leading nursing franchises. The business concept can be attractive initially, but the cost is very high, I always discourage anybody from franchises, but that decision is yours to make.
Some nurses decide to become independent contractors and go out and secure there own contracts. Many large staffing agencies started out with one contract and have become giants. Individual nurses decide to become entrepreneurs, get into the staffing game, the game that can produce lots and lots of financial possibilities.
Some people say that it is difficult to start a staffing agency, the economy is bad, the contracts are difficult to come by, nothing is right, everything is wrong. Well, to those people I tell you that some of the staffing giants have started from humble beginnings and started when the economy was not at its best.
It is never easy to start a nursing staffing agency and the financial rewards can be great, but without trying and without giving it a shot, you will never really know your full potential and how to make it big and make money in the nursing staffing arena.
