How To Make Decent Money From Blogging
Search on the Internet for ways to make a little money on the side, and often, you hear them telling you about how making money from blogging can be a great way to go. Apparently it's like shooting fish in a barrel. But how exactly is it done? More to the point, what exactly is a blog?
If you have not really been keeping up, you're likely to be a little confused about how ranting about your personal thoughts on a website is ever going to get anyone interested in coming in and making your website popular. The thing is though, that that's not what a blog is. That's just the way people would be dismissive about what a blog was all about at first when it all started years ago.
If you have a good point of view to something in general – if you are a movie buff and people tend to like your take on what is good and what is not, if you love computers and video games and you have something to say about them – anything like this can go on a blog too. And these are what are likely to make your blog successful at drawing people in.
The first thing you need to do to start making money from blogging is, you need to identify something that you could be interested in writing about. Whatever your passion is, whatever you like to read about – anything that you could appeal to a niche audience with – you can turn that into a blog. In fact, you do not even have to have just one blog – you could put up two or three if you have that many areas of interests.
Once you narrow it down to an area ever you can write about, it comes down to, you know, actually writing about it. Perhaps it would be a good idea before you actually buy a website and start in earnest, to try your hand doing it for free on a personal blogging site like BlogSpot or WordPress.
Once you do this and steady your hand at how it's done, you can move to a website or blog that you buy on your own to use for your money making. You learn this way about what works with your choice of subject, what works with the audience you have in mind and so on.
After a while, when you seem to be getting a steady flow of traffic to your blog, after you've made your mistakes and learned what works, it will be time to buy your own domain name and hosting and to get going. It costs very little too – just about five dollars a year to buy a domain name and five dollars a month to keep it hosted is all you need.
But all that is the easy part. How about actually making money from blogging? Well, if you've done everything correctly to this point, actually, the moneymaking part bids to be the easiest. You'll find all sorts of articles and books on how exactly it's done, but basically, all you need once you have, say, about 50 visitors coming on your website every day, is advertising. If you have advertising on your website, you can expect that at least one of them will click on something. You can expect to make five dollars a day at the very least.
As time goes on, as you get better at appealing to your audiences, you can expect two or three times as much.
