How Much Time Do I Need To Start an Internet Marketing Business?
If you are new to internet marketing, or are on the verge of starting an internet marketing business, you are more than likely at the stage of wondering how much time you need to allocate to start and run your internet marketing business. Especially if you are in full time job or have a busy schedule, if that is the case with you, then you will find this article beneficial.
Despite what the gurus or internet marketing teachers, teach and preach there is no, one size fits all answer to this question. Some gurus say, all you need is an hour a day. While others structure their training in such a way, that you’ve got to be working on your business 8 hours a day. However the truth of the matter all boils down to you.
The amount of time you should allocate to start an internet marketing business is the amount of time you can devote to it. Think about this, if I said one hour and left it at that, you will devote only that hour. More than likely you’ll work on it for an hour and think, I’ve done my hour a day and I’m finished for the day. As I say that, I’m not saying there’s no way you can start and run a business in an hour a day. Especially when there are people out there like Timothy Ferriss, who run their business working four hours a week, and he’s written a book on it, The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich, which has sold over a million copies world wide.
Right now, what you really need to do, is to identify how much time you can devote to your business. You really need to take a look at how you are currently spending your time, what activities you are participating on a daily basis. For the next 3 to 4 days, keep a record of how you spend your time, from the moment you wake up to the moment you sleep. When you do that, you will find that there are activities you do that, you must do or you do for the sake of it and there’s going to be some activities you can either get someone else to do or choose not to do.
The more time you have to work on your business, is going to be beneficial to you in the long run. There’s only one caveat to that, when you are working on your business you are totally focused on it, free from distractions. When you’re working on your business, you should be working on it, not surfing around or checking your emails needless and getting distracted.
For that level of dedication, commitment and focus, there are couple of things you must be completely clear on, your purpose or reasons for starting an internet marketing business, what you expect from it and have a plan of action. If either of them are weak or not compelling enough for you, you could find yourself throwing in the towel, once you’ve come across a challenge or obstacle.
