Home Affiliate Marketing on Overdrive – Outsourcing Your Affiliate Content
Is your business doing as well as it should? If you are a beginner in home affiliate marketing, you are faced with a multitude of tasks that may be completely new to you. If you are more advanced, you have a different problem: you know what to do, but you lack the time! The overwhelming need of the affiliate marketer, whether newbie or more experienced, is to generate large amounts of content on a regular basis. Articles, forum posts, marketing emails, sales pages: all that affiliate content– the stuff that drives your business– is enormously time consuming.
Have you considered outsourcing? Think about this:
Well written, topical articles are an invaluable source of free traffic for every marketer.
For the newbie, it is one of the most important ways of getting those first trickles of traffic which lead to those all-important early sales.
For the more established, articles are a key way to grow and maintain your online profile, and make yourself into the “go-to” guy or gal with whom everyone wants to do business.
The trouble is: most of us would spend thirty to sixty minutes writing one good, keyword rich article. Is that the best use of your time?
Outsource it! Elance, RentACoder and other sites are not just for programmers. They have a stable of writers who can easily take on just about any writing task, large or small, and for very reasonable rates.
My only caveat about outsourcing my own writing is to find someone who writes good, everyday English. You may find outsourcing extremely cheap when the bids come from certain countries, but you may want to put up bids for very small jobs at first to test out the quality.
However, even the beginner can consider outsourcing short writing tasks, either because you are not yet a very good writer, or you just lack the confidence right now. Neither of these are excuses for not getting material published over your byline as early as you can.
2. Forum posts
This is a little trickier, as it requires someone to “be you” on forums. You can still outsource this task, but you might wait until your business is big enough to require and pay for an online “virtual personal assistant”.
Again, the usual outsourcing sites are good places to hunt out competent virtual PA’s, but, ironically, good places to find someone to handle forums for you are… forums!
Some of the more active affiliate marketing forums have people who are willing to take on all sorts of affiliate content creation jobs for you, including daily or weekly forum posts.
If forums are an important source of traffic for your home affiliate marketing business, but you cannot face the grind of hitting each forum where you are active on a regular and frequent basis, a virtual PA can look after this for you.
3. Sales pages
Good sales pages are the lifeblood of your affiliate business once you have passed a certain point. Many of us start out just publishing our affiliate links everywhere we can by whatever means necessary, but at some point you will want to promote your own product, or build a list.
Only your own sales pages can answer that need. Trouble is, most of us lack the skill to do this.
Outsourcing may be your best answer. By all means, check out the sorts of sites I’ve mentioned, but another excellent place to find webpage designers is…. your local telephone directory!
A great sales page is your advertisement to the world. Unfortunately, so is a bad one. A local designer with whom you can meet and build a relationship may be well worth the possible extra expense this may entail.
If price is an absolute determining factor, though, shop online, but always ask to view previous work. Also, the various outsourcing sites have rating systems for both the contractors and the buyers. Read these carefully before making your choice.
To sum up: Just about any affiliate content task can be outsourced. As a beginner, you can save a huge amount of time getting your business up and running if you can afford to farm out the most time consuming and unfamiliar tasks. For the more advanced, home affiliate marketing may become an impossible chore without outsourcing. Either way, this strategy makes sense provided you are willing to use common sense. Read the site ratings and forums carefully to see who are the most highly regarded contractors. Finally, don’t be afraid to pick up the phone book. There may be someone talented just around the corner who is waiting for your call!
