Email Marketing – 3 Necessary Tips For a Successful Email Marketing Campaign
Email marketing has come a long way over the past few years. It used to be easy – just send your email to promote your products and it was automatically delivered. But, like all good things, it has become corrupted and spam has entered the marketplace.
Today, trying to get an email through to someone has become a real hassle. Many people won’t even open their emails unless they are sure who the sender is. They’re afraid that they might receive complete junk mail, porn or even a virus.
Even so, email is still a very effective form of marketing on the internet. Just follow the rules and you should have no trouble. Here are 3 email marketing tips that you should implement:
1) Your Opt-in List – If you are conducting an email campaign, be sure that everyone on your list has opted-in, i.e. voluntarily signed up to receive information from you. This will give you proof that they signed up if you are ever accused of sending spam.
2) No Spam, ever! – Make sure that the information that you send in your email campaign is exactly what you promised your clients when they opted-in for your list. Tell them up front what they will be getting from you in the future, e.g. upcoming sales, tips and information about your products, etc. Do not abuse this or it can get you into big trouble.
3) Keep your list updated – remove any duplicate addresses on your list. Many people will join your list two or even three times because they don’t recognize your name or because of different offers. When people start getting duplicate email they usually don’t remember that they actually opted-in for each list and, at least, might just leave your list or, at worst, accuse you of spam.
An email campaign can be a very profitable method of online marketing as long as you play by the rules.
