Choosing an Affiliate Program to Promote – For Affiliate Marketing Beginners
Now you have decided to be an affiliate and sell the best affiliate programs available and hopefully progress to being a super affiliate in the future it is now time to decide on what programs you are going to promote. You have registered at ClickBank so here are a few tips to help you on your way to choosing a product.
The easiest thing to do is find where the market is – find out where people are spending money. You could pick any popular niche especially if you know something about it already but you still need to do a few tests to determine if it is a money-maker.
Probably the most popular niche is How To Make Money or something in the Self Help category. You will find that you have lots of competition in the make money category but you can try it and see how you go. If not try something in self help – some problem that people need an answer for.
If the gravity is fairly high obviously it is going to be popular but if you want to promote something with a lower gravity you can do simple tests that will give you an idea on whether there is much demand, competition and buyers.
Go to Google's Keyword Tool External and type in some keywords related to your chosen product. You will be able to tell if there are lots of people searching because if you get loads of related keywords and a reasonable amount of search traffic you are probably going to be OK with this. But say you type Fishing into the tool. You get lots of related keywords but a massive amount of search traffic then you could do with narrowing it down slowly by trying Carp Fishing. By narrowing it down you are going to get less search traffic and that will give you more of a chance in that market.
Are you going to make money with this – are there plenty of buyers? A little check you can do is go to Google and type in your keywords. Type Carp Fishing in quotes and you will see that there are lots of searches for those words and more importantly lots of sponsored ads, so people are buying. Obviously you can not tell how many of the searchers are buyers but because there are ads there it does say there are buyers. If there were no sponsored ads down the side – forget it.
Anyways, those are just some basic ways of giving you an idea if the product is worth selling and going to make you money. Next time I will show you how to promote your affiliate product for free and make some sales.
