Can You Become a Famous Blogger?
Lots of people are “jumping on the bandwagon” and setting up their own blogs. Some are using the many great free platforms available, and some prefer to buy a domain name and web hosting and set up a more professional blog. Whichever platform you choose, you’ll see that blogging is enjoyable no matter what. It’s great to be able to express yourself and write about whatever you like. The best part is, you might even achieve a little fame as a blogger!
For many people, blogging is much more than just an online journal. Although thousands of people have their own blogs, only a select few actually become well known and achieve a high level of fame. Do you wonder why this is? It’s because the have come up with an original and exciting idea that appeals to the masses.
The internet is actually one monstrous marketplace where you can buy and sell just about anything you want. And, when it comes to blogs, you’ll find hundreds of different niches that promote all sorts of new and exciting products. Bloggers who become famous have no problem selling whatever they want because their recommendations are almost always taken seriously.
Famous bloggers don’t always have to sell or promote products, however. Sometimes all that’s necessary on a famous blog is a donation button, or “tip jar”. The fans of the blog want to help the blogger stay online so they can continue to enjoy the content, so they are happy to contribute a dollar or two to ensure this happens. Believe it or not, this can amount to thousands of dollars a week if a blog has a large fan base.
The key to achieving fame in blogging is to get as many loyal readers as you can. This is easier said than done. The easiest way to go about this is to write unique content and then advertise your blog. If you can gain just four or five loyal readers each day, it won’t be long before word of mouth grows your following all by itself. You must also write content that people yearn to read. I know that there are two or three blogs that I can’t wait to visit when I get online in the morning. If your content can build that type of anticipation, you might have what it takes to become a famous blogger.
Whatever you decide write about, you must write it well. Infuse humor and personal experience in your posts, and people will identify with you and want to read what you’ve written. Remember, your experiences may not seem exciting to you, but they may be interesting to someone else. The point is that the content should be interesting enough that people will want to return day after day and read it over and over again. You also want them to recommend it to their friends and family.
Some people are natural born writers and have no problem writing things that interest others, while some struggle to write good content. No matter which one of those descriptions most fits you, it’s important to understand that becoming a good blogger requires a lot of practice. You should experiment with your writing style until you get it to the point that almost anyone could understand it. Most people read at an eighth grade level, so you should write simply but be careful not to write too simply. You don’t want your articles to sound like they were written for a third grader!
A good writer can grab the reader’s attention at the opening sentence. After that, it’s up to you to hold it throughout the article. A good writer will be able to satisfy the reader by the end of the article, yet leave them wanting more. After much practice, you should be able to perfect this art and have them hanging on every word!
Don’t worry. The talent for writing a great blog can be learned. Take a look at some of the more “famous” blogs and you’ll get a sense of what it takes. You should never copy a famous writer’s technique, but you should take note of the author’s style so you know what works. If you can learn what makes a writer successful, you’ll be able to apply those fundamentals to your own style. Studying their writing styles will only improve yours.
If you stay true to your style and develop your ability, you’ll notice that your traffic and following will increase gradually over time. Stay persistent and continue to improve, and someday you may just be the most famous blogger of all!
