Blogging – How to Generate Ideas to Keep Your Content Relevant
Whether you're a gifted writer or NOT, you need a system to generate article ideas for your blog posts. Even if you hire someone to write the blog posts for you, you still need a good system to be effective. Otherwise, you'll be frustrated because you have this "to-do that never gets done" hanging over your head.
If you're just starting out or restarting your blog, make a commitment to blog once per week.
Follow these tips to generate article ideas for your blog post: First, jot down 3, 5 or 7 tips for your niche. (If you need ideas, look at magazines within your niche, browse through social media platforms and listen to what people are talking about). For example, I just took this article title from a fitness magazine, "4 Weeks to Your Most Amazing Body Yet". Within the article, the author takes you through what to do within those 4 weeks to get your most amazing body.
- Sit down, get focused and write out a bunch of titles related to your service offerings. This works for me like a charm because once I get going, the flood gates open up. (Remember to take this one step at a time)
- Using the draft feature of your blog, pick a title and start writing your draft. Keep it conversational and let your passion shine through. Note: Writing for your blog is not the same as writing for your high school English teacher (unless you have that type of audience)
- Leave the post for a couple hours (or, a day or two)
- Re-read your draft; make a note of all changes
- Make final changes
- Hit the publish button
Blogging is not hard if you have a system to follow.
