Are You Chasing This Affiliate Marketing Formula?
Most people that are new to Internet Marketing seem to always be looking for that secret affiliate marketing formula that's going to make them filthy rich overnight. You know what I'm referring to, right? It's that secret push button software or ebook that sells for $ 47.00 and makes you millions. Yeah, right. Hey, I'm not perfect. I've been the "new guy" before and fallen for several things that turned out to be overblown or an outright scam. Unfortunately, new people will continue to come online looking for a get rich quick opportunity and as long as that's the case, you'll continue to see people getting ripped off.
The truth is that there actually IS an affiliate marketing formula. No, I'm not talking about some pie in the sky, push button, get rich quick scheme, but about an actual system that people follow in order to make their affiliate marketing businesses work. The system may be different for a lot of people, but it's still similar and proven to work. Did you notice that I said "work"? There's no free ride on the Internet either. Most new people work 6-7 days per week and even most people that have been successful for any length of time do not sit around and rest on their laurels. Just because a tree is fully grown does not mean that it will not die if you stop watering it.
The biggest thing that I've seen happen with most new marketer's is that they do not know what is real and what's not. They're swimming in information and would not know if an opportunity was genuine or not if it hit them upside the head. Most people with any kind of decent work ethic and good common sense can start and run an online business, but without a proven plan they're at a standstill. I was there for quite awhile too, as were many current successful Internet Marketer's. I've heard of some guys and gals struggling 4-5 years before they either finally figured it out for them or found someone to take them under their wing and get them on the right track.
My best advice for those new to Internet Marketing is to spend the money to attend a reputable Internet Marketing conference, find someone that you want to model yourself after and hire them to mentor you. Yes, it's expensive. Most conferences will set you back as much as $ 3,000, including hotel, meals, transportation and admission. Plus, most decent Marketer's will charge you at least $ 250 per hour to answer your questions. The thing that you need to consider is the amount of money and time you'll waste chasing that elusive affiliate marketing formula before you finally wise up and take the plunge? The choice is up to you.
