Affiliate Marketing, What is IT? Why Do IT?
This paper is certainly a quick introduction to the idea of ??affiliate marketing and why it may be your quickest start to making money online.
For those of you who are just beginning on your search to find riches on the internet, and you're looking for the fastest way to get started, affiliate marketing is a good choice for several reasons.
1. You do not need your own product. Wal-Mart does not have one.
2. You do not need a list. Wal-Mart does not have one of those either.
3. You do not have to have an auto responder, but that must come later.
4. You do not have to have a website, but it helps a lot.
When you are an affiliate for someone, you market their product for a commission like an insurance salesman. Wal-Mart was not the best example, but I wanted to get your head into what's going on here. It's simply the selling of products and services. The very thing that has made our economy go around for ever.
What has made internet marketers rich is the low cost of production, marketing, and delivery when using the internet. There I've done it already. Left the subject for a rabbit trail. I said you do not need to produce your own product in order to do what the title at the top of the page says, and then I introduce production costs. Sorry, but it is a HUGE advantage that you will enjoy later on.
The good news is that everything you'll learn and practice in affiliate marketing will help you when you're ready to produce your own product. Now, back to the subject.
There are plenty of producers who need you to bring eyeballs to their products, and are willing to pay you well to do it. In fact, the low production and delivery cost do apply here (I knew it fit) because it allows an abnormally high commission rate for the affiliate. Sometimes 100%.
I heard you ask how / why would someone give me the same sales price of the product? Well, I'm mainly talking about information / digital products which can be produced, stored and shipped for $ 0. That makes it possible for a producer who is building a list of customers to pay you well for bringing them a new one.
As you draw attention to someone's product, unless they're an idiot, their product will lead the new customer to their mailing list. If you're smart it will also put them on your customer list as well, so you both win, and they're willing to pay you very well for doing it.
Back to Wal-Mart, who is not a manufacturer, but a retailer. They sometimes get suppliers to produce private label products for them, but they do not make them. They do, however market other companies' products and the operative words here are companies and products. Both are plural. A store generally must have multiple products and suppliers in order to be successful.
If you are going to make serious money online using the affiliate marketing model, then you will begin with 1 product and either promote it through a mini website or ads linked directly to your suppliers sales page.
You will have more long term success by putting up a simple website to capture your customers' names and email addresses and to presale the product with a review. You need to have looked at the product to make sure of its value before recommending it. That way you are providing a service by saving your customer time in looking for quality products that can help them. You can tell them what they will find in the product before they buy it.
After you get the first product set up on a mini site or an ad words campaign that's working well and making you regular income, then you search out another quality product to sell, and start over again. Each time you do one it will be easier and faster the next time.
Obviously you could continue to do this until you were making enough money for it to be a full time venture. You may have 10 products or 100. Each of these setups can be automated so that after you get them working, they will continue making you money with very little maintenance. Like rental properties without tenants or toilets.
