Affiliate marketing or your own product? Promoting someone else's product or promoting your own product? Which path is the right one to take? The truth is, different people will need to take different paths. For some, affiliate marketing is the best thing to pour their effort into. For others, product creation is the way to go.

When creating your own product, you'll have to spend a LOT of time, period. Unless you're willing to spend money to get someone else to create the entire product for you (which is highly undesirable and will cost you really high ), then you'll have to work long hours and late nights to get the thing done.
As an affiliate marketer, you have another job: driving traffic. While product creators can sit back and wait for affiliates to bring traffic in, affiliate marketers have to do the hard part: getting traffic. This means forum posting, backlink building, article marketing, article directory marketing, and much more. When it comes down to it, generating traffic requires blood, sweat, and tears.
Both of these business models are sustainable. Both of these are sufficient to be a potential full-time income. Both are incredibly hard to master, and both will require a lot of hard work and effort. Are you a creative person with wild ideas? Create your product. If you'd rather work the extra hours building a list, generating traffic and increasing search engine rankings, then sign yourself up for affiliate marketing. Either way, you will succeed if you only work hard and follow the right principals.
