OK, so we’ve established that your a budding affiliate marketer and you slowly climbing the ladder to success. Longing for the day you can tell your boss where he can politely go. We all dream of that day, online entrepreneur of not.
Knowing where you should be heading your efforts to be best served will cut a lot of down time out of the equation, maybe your a ppc landing page/squeeze page kind of marketer. Maybe your into the whole niche review site/blog. The truth is, there is more than one way to skin a cat and if you get good at any one of them, then the chances are your going to make it no matter what.
One thing however, what do you aim to sell? Physical products or electronic/info products. Each have there strong and weak points and the truth is, you can pretty much succeed with both, you just have to have different plans of action.
For physical products, targeting the name of the brand is hands down, the ultimate plan of attack. If someone is searching online with the keywords “buy (product name) or just (product name), then the chances are, that man or woman has their credit card in their hand ready.
For info products, its a little different. Yes, you can still create sites around the brand name as your major keyword, but you will want to target keywords that are also problem solvers. For example, if you are promoting a product that allows someone to look up the personal info a cell phone number. Keywords like “boyfriend’s unknown cell phone number” or “how to find out a cell phone number” are absolute gold.
So, in conclusion, info or physical products? It all depends on your angle, if you wish to put out a site with multiple pages, all with different related keywords, pertaining to a problem, then yes, go for the info product but if its a review site based on the name of a product. Nine times out of ten, make it a physical one.
