8 Steps to Creating an Amazing List Building Business Step 7, Part I
#7 – find some affiliate products. So, absolutely no matter what niche that you’re in, there are products out there that somebody has created for your niche. Clickbankdotcom is a good place to find affiliate products, commissionjunctiondotcom is another good place to find affiliate products, or jump online and, you know, Google ‘affiliate products’, you’ll find some affiliate products.
What I recommend is don’t just find one, find five. Find five affiliate products, try them out. Write to the person who sells that product and ask them if they can have a sa–you can have a sample of that product, so you can try it out, make sure you know exactly what you’re sending out to your subscribers.
I’ve sent out a couple of things in the past that I didn’t look at close enough, and boy I regretted it–so make absolutely sure that you know what the product is, and it’s something that you use, that you could certainly recommend and buy it, recommend it. But find five affiliate products, create five emails, and send the people on your list to, over time, each one of those five affiliate programs, and test them. Test them and track them.
Here’s how I test and track affiliate products–if I send a thousand visitors to an affiliate website, I expect to do somewhere between $500 and $1000. Now if you only send ten clicks, and it’s a $100 product, well, you could get a sale, and you might not get a sale, that doesn’t tell you anything. Even if you send a hundred visitors to an affiliate program, with a $100 product, you might get one sale, you might not get any sales, or you might get five sales, and any one of those scenarios doesn’t really tell you anything at all.
