3 Tips to Get the Most Bang For Your Blogging Buck on Video Sites
It's important to take your video posts from your blog and distribute them to different sites like YouTube, Metacafe, Dailymotion and others. This can be a valuable traffic technique to bring more visitors to your website.
The one thing I like about these sites is you can get traffic you would normally not get from other types of sources. People who like to watch videos tend to not like reading. They are not usually searching online for blogs.
This works because people like to get information different ways. Some like to read it, other like to listen and still others like to get it by viewing. And by not getting on websites like YouTube, you would miss out on this powerful traffic source.
What ever you do make sure you follow the three tips every time you put upload a video from your blog.
1. Get your URL everywhere – One of the things which I find frustrating is when I've finished watching someone give some great content is there no contact information.
It's important to get your url in as many places a possible. You want to give people as many ways to find your blog as possible. You would be surprised how many people will come to your site to learn more about you and what you have to say. You can add it to your profile, put it in your video or even add it to your credits.
2. Choose Your Username carefully – Do not make the mistake of having a goofy username. Bob435 does not do anything for you or your business. Think branding in this situation.
A username should either clearly describe your niche, or be your name. You want to pick a name that makes sense, and one you can get at the most of the video sites. I like to use my name for accounts at the various video sites. This is usually the one of the easiest names to get because your name is pretty unique.
3. Add blog URL to description – Here is a nice little tip I see people not using enough. This is one of the most wasted real estate on the internet these days. It's not as bad as it use to be, but it's still pretty bad.
Almost every one of these sites will let you use HTML, so you can create a clickable link. And believe me people will click on that link. Take advantage of this and add your blog URL in this section. Give people viewing your videos the ability to click through to your website. They will appreciate the opportunity to learn more about you.
