3 Easy Songs For Beginner Guitar Players – Simple Rock Guitar Chords E A and D
Here are 3 easy songs with a rock feel to them for beginner guitar players. You only need to know the chords E, A and D. If they’re not what you’d normally listen to, they will still be very easy to learn and sound great first time.
The Troggs : Wild Thing. Chords A D E
The chords are simple, the strumming is both simple and unique, everyone’s heard it and it’s instantly recognizable. This is probably the first song that most people play show off their new skills.
Billy Idol – Mony Mony. Chords A D E
This is a totally different type of rock song but still uses the same easy chords. There is slightly more to the strumming on this one but still if you’re comfortable with the chords and you didn’t struggle with Wild Thing, this will be a good one to try.
U2 – Desire. Chords D A E
This song presents a slightly different challenge, even though the chords are the same. The key to this one is the speed at which the chords change. Initially, if the song is too fast, I recommend you play at a comfortable speed without listening to the track at the same time. Each time you come back to it, you’ll should push a little more until you find you can do it at the right speed and then use the track as the perfect accompaniment.
Just to remind you, the chords are E: 0-2-2-1-0-0, A: x-0-2-2-2-0 and D: x-x-0-2-3-2, but refer to whatever you’ve been learning from already if it looks confusing in this format.
Hopefully, you’ll agree these are easy songs for beginner guitar players and although you may have tried Wild Thing Before, I do hope that songs 2 and 3 are new ones for you to add to your list.
