Internet Marketing – Step by Step Guide on How to Write a Sales Letter

Sales letter writing is something that can take years to really get good at – and top copywriters are paid anywhere from $5,000 on up to $25,000 to write sales letters.

I anticipate you will not be good at it at first, either. But the thing I want to emphasize here is that it is not really that important when you are marketing to your list. Like everything in your Internet marketing business with time your competency level for the primary skills you need to develop will increase and get better.

You have seen sales letters online from many marketers, some are very good and some are not so good. However, his long as you are expressing what you want to get across in your sales letters and letting the reader know how what you have to offer in your products and services will solve the problem of theirs your specific wording does not have to be perfect.

But, if copy writing is not your forte do not allow your weakest link to hold you back. My subscribers do not care whether I write in beautiful, flowing, persuasive sales copy – in fact, some of them probably appreciate it.

And that brings up another point: the reason my subscribers buy from me is not because I have great sales pages (I don’t). They buy from me because they have developed a relationship with me. They download my free gifts. The ones that like it read my emails. The ones that do not, they simply unsubscribe or just never open my emails. Then most people that buy from me buy my List Building program first (a few start with the Article Marketing Black Book). I price them low – why?

1) I want as many people as possible to buy them and get to know me. I would rather sell 100 books for $10 than 10 books for $100 each. The reason: it allows more people to get to know me – the money to me is the same – so why not get to know more people?

2) The nice thing about a low priced product is that the return rate is really low (less than 1%). I have heard the industry average is closer to 10-15%. The ones who like me after reading the $10 will buy my $47 book or my $97 book or my coaching program. The ones that don’t like the $10 generally won’t ask for a refund – of course if they do, they get it fast! And the ones that like the $10 book and buy future products from me, are almost guaranteed to like everything else I write – I try to use the same style in everything I write – just telling it like it is – and I try to pack everything I write with strong information.

So all of that to say – it is not the end of the world if you cannot write a great sales letter.

If you are out to attract prospective customers and develop your online presence and exposure, you owe it to yourself and the financial future of your business to learn everything you can about Internet marketing.

Internet Marketing Pyramid Scheme, Exposed!

Most people think all internet marketing based businesses are a network marketing pyramid scheme. However, entrepreneurs with the right frame of mind and a burning desire have been starting and maintaining multi-million dollar internet marketing based businesses for years. Most entrepreneurs are attracted to network marketing based businesses due to over hyped or misleading marketing techniques. They end up going to a home party or business opportunity meeting. Then at the meeting there is a guest speaker, who says he quit his job and made over $50,000 in his first 20 days of starting the business. All he did was sponsor two people and the spill over did the rest.

Another misleading marketing technique could be they are persuaded by a friend or family member in a network marketing business, who says the network marketing game is easy. All you have to do is tell everyone you know about your business. Anyone can do it part-time and make millions in a few months. For those of you who are intelligent entrepreneurs or internet marketers. You know the get rich overnight schemes never workout. Most internet marketers don’t have a realistic frame of mind when they join an internet marketing business. They expect to due very little work and receive a large payout immediately. When this doesn’t happen, they quit. Then they proceed to cover up their failure by tell everyone they know, that internet marketing is a pyramid scheme. This is why network marketing has such a bad rap. To become a wealthy internet marketer, follow these mental steps for success:

1. Make a list of very precise goals, create a WHY (burning desire)

2. Always maintain a positive frame of mind. Never let your mind become consumed with negativity. If this happens quickly replace it with positive self talk (PST). Always envision yourself and business being successful

3. Stay focused, there is a lot of information on the web. Don’t get side tracked by it. Also don’t let paralysis by analysis happen to you either. If you’re going to fail, fail forward, but never give up.

4. Never listen to people who failed at internet marketing. They couldn’t do it because they were lazy. Also don’t listen to other people and there negativity. There are a lot of people in this world that don’t like to see others succeed.

5. Never stop learning. Find a successful mentor or mastermind group and learn everything they has to offer. Also don’t be afraid to learn from someone that is not in your business. Just because there not in your business doesn’t mean they can’t help you be great.

6. Be persistent and consistent. Use the slight edge to your advantage.

7. Lastly, You’re a professional business owner now, act like one then. Not some hobbyist. There is some irony to the entrepreneurs who fail in internet marketing. They end up right back in there corporate jobs. Last I checked the corporate structure is structured like a pyramid scheme. There is an owner, then some Presidents and V.P.s, under them regional managers, then managers, then you (the employee). In Corporate America you start at the bottom and work your way up (if your company allows it), trading time for money, making someone else rich.

The corporate structure is multi-leveled just like internet marketing. The only difference is the top levels of the company are for family, only. The corporate salary differences within the corporate structure are very overwhelming. The really big problem with Corporate America is no matter what you do. You will probably never have the lifestyle that the owner of the company has. Corporate America has a funny way of trapping you between levels with little room to move up. They don’t call it a corporate ladder for nothing. There is always someone above you and someone above him and so on until the top. Well the only way for you to move up, is if the person above you moves up. You’re usually always stuck behind the same person. If it’s not that person, it’s another person. All the while the people at the top make millions and millions of dollars off of your sweat equity. The next time someone tells you that internet marketing is a network marketing pyramid scheme, find out what their career is and then explain to them the truth about their job structure! Now, with all of the information stated above, do you feel the internet marketing business is more a pyramid scheme or Corporate America?

Internet marketing is much more fulfilling, because the income potential is unlimited. You get paid due to how intelligent, persistent, consistent and determined you are. You can make money 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Your business will grow year after year. You can work any where in the world, all you need is a computer and cell phone. You have no boss, but yourself. You can plan your schedule as you like, have more free time with the family all while getting paid (Financial Freedom). All you have to do is have a good business plan, follow the steps above and never give up until you succeed.

Internet Marketing Tips – Parodies Make Money

Let me just say that before I get into this article, this form of marketing is not my personal cup of tea. I don’t really get into it. Having said that, it does work very well. If done correctly, it can make a big name for yourself and bring in a lot of sales. This article is going to show you an example of this and explain how to go about doing it yourself.

The example I am going to use is one I am sure that you are all familiar with. Recently, Britney Spears did a concert that was a total disaster. As a result, she was absolutely torn apart by the media. Because of this, Chris Crocker did a video ranting, crying, carrying on about how the media should leave Britney alone. It was absolutely pathetic. Well, a well known marketer, known as Dr. Mike, came up with a parody of the video called “Leave John Reese Alone” where he screams about people bashing John Reese for releasing some product. Dr. Mike does an excellent parody of the Chris Crocker video. Why is it excellent? Because he paid attention to detail. He made his video as close to the Chris Crocker video as possible and yet focus on a completely different topic, related to an Internet marketing product.

There is no doubt that this video will go viral and get thousands of people to Dr. Mike’s site. While I personally didn’t think the video was funny, and quite honestly, in poor taste, it is still excellent marketing. Anybody who knows anything about Britney and Chris Crocker is going to get it. And that is all that matters. While I didn’t enjoy the video, there will be many who will.

Okay, so how do we go about doing something like this? Well, the first step is that we have to keep our pulse on what’s going on in the world, mostly the world of entertainment, because that’s where things like this usually go on.

The next thing we have to do is come up with an idea to parody whatever it is that’s in the news. Yes, this does take a bit of thought and creativity. Quite honestly, there is no way to teach this. You either have the talent for coming up with these ideas or you don’t. However, by paying attention to the detail of the video itself, you should have an easier time of it.

Finally, you need the equipment. In the case of videos, Camtasia will do just fine. It’s about $300 but worth every penny. You will get clear, crisp videos that you’ll be able to present to the public with confidence. After you’re finished, it’s just a matter of uploading your video to YouTube.

Parodies are not everybody’s cup of tea. But if you’re into them and have a feel for them, they are great money makers.

How Poor Marketing Strategies Affect a Business

A marketing strategy is the backbone of any business. It generates the required awareness about your products or services among customers. A good marketing strategy should correlate well with the long-term marketing plans and goals of the business.

But, due to a variety of reasons, businesses tend to go for flashy strategies or outdated ones to market their products. This can negatively impact the sales as well as reputation of overall business.

Let us find out where businesses go wrong in choosing their marketing strategy properly.

Lack of marketing expertise

A marketing plan devised for a business should be organized in a way, such that it complements the goals and resources of the organization. But many businesses become over ambitious and go for extreme marketing campaigns that are not necessary for their business type. This leads to depletion of funds, which can be used for other purposes.

Lack direction

A marketing program will be futile if it fails in targeting the desired audience. Many marketing professionals try to impress the management instead of working on customer preferences and choices. Marketing strategies designed in such manner will have little impact on customers purchasing decision and may lead to poor sales.

Ignoring Internet marketing

A study by Nielsen online and web visible has revealed that 44% of the small businesses in US are not having websites. This is a very high number considering the extent of Internet penetration in the country.

Even if they have a website, many of them are unable to leverage the benefits offered by Internet. Here are some reasons for it:

Do not update websites regularly

Many businesses do not update their websites regularly. Customers are exposed to information that is two or three years old, and in some cases the content they display remains outdated. This leads to a loss of potential customers who browse their website for the latest products in the market.

Neglect SEO

Some businesses assume that setting up a website completes their Internet marketing strategy. They neglect techniques like SEO and PPC campaigns, which are essential in targeting their customers and increasing traffic to the website. Without making use of SEO techniques, a business fails to attract those customers who might genuinely be interested in its products.

Perceive it to be expensive

Though Internet marketing is inexpensive compared to traditional marketing strategies, many businesses perceive it to be expensive and beyond their financial reach (mainly due ignorance). If used effectively, a website also provides a platform for businesses to sell online.

Below par customer service

Businesses can make use of customer service as a good marketing strategy. Delighting customers will create a favorable impression in their minds and motivate them for repeat purchases. This would even encourage word of mouth advertising for your business. A business does well even during testing times when the customers are served politely, professionally and in a fair manner.

A good marketing strategy guides a business in taking their products closer to the customers. Businesses must focus their marketing efforts in such a way that customers can easily relate the product or service to their requirements.

Internet Marketing Leads – Getting Leads on the Internet

On a popular Internet marketing forum, a new user asks the million dollar question “How can I get leads on the Internet”? The answers were unsurprisingly generic — article marketing, forum posting, social bookmarking, Google AdWords, Craigslist, Kijiji, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

However, these ideas only answer half the question. They only tell you where to get leads on the Internet, which is the easy part. There are thousands of websites on the Internet that help you promote your business to your target market.

The hard part of getting leads on the Internet is the how, not the where. Every one of the promotion methods above are over-saturated. There are more people selling than there are people buying.

That’s why you should think about the how before you think of the where. How can you stand out from the crowd? What can you do that is different from everybody else? What makes your business unique, and how can you sensationalize that difference in an exciting way?

Before you rush into social bookmarking, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, or any other Internet marketing method, think about your plan of attack. It’s not the medium that will decide whether you get leads on the Internet, but rather your strategy.

A unique strategy executed in a creative way will help you succeed in Internet marketing. Internet marketing lead generation is all about standing out from the crowd, and learning to package your company’s benefits in a unique and exciting way.

Done correctly, you’ll find that getting leads on the Internet really isn’t that difficult. Internet marketing isn’t much different from offline marketing. It’s all about finding your unique selling proposition, and using every method at your disposal to publicize it.

Internet Marketing Tips – Getting Your House in Order

This is yet another article that I am sure is going to provoke some strong responses. Well, you know what they say about staying out of the kitchen. Anyway, too many marketers blame their failings on others. It’s always somebody else’s fault. Either they’re complaining that they can’t get a joint venture or somebody said something nasty about them on their blog or whatever. Newsflash… you and you alone are responsible for your success. So before you go whining about all your bad luck, it’s time to get your OWN house in order first. This article is going to show you how.

First thing you have to do is take stock of yourself. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? What is your business model like? Do you have your own product or are you selling other people’s products as an affiliate? What are your available funds for putting into the business? Don’t look to others to help you. You have to do this yourself, at least at the start. Sure, try to get JV partners and affiliates to help you sell your products, provided you have your own. But don’t count on them because relying on others is a sure ticket to disaster.

How do I know this? I have been marketing for over six years now. This January started my seventh year online and almost ALL of my success has been because of my own hard work. It wasn’t until my sixth year in business that I started to actually do things with other marketers. If I had relied on them early on, I would have been in big trouble. So instead, I concentrated on building my own business with my own two hands. I can count the number of “good” affiliates I have had on six years on one hand. And in spite of that, I am earning in excess of six figures a year. Don’t let the lack of help from others stop you.

My biggest piece of advice that I can give you is to reinvest in your business. Pretend that 10% of the income that you generated, you didn’t generate. Take that money and put it into advertising or product development or something. The more you put back into your marketing efforts, the more you will get back in return. Make sure you track everything you do. You don’t want to throw good money after bad. If something doesn’t work… stop doing it.

It’s time to stop blaming others for your failures. It’s time to take responsibility for your OWN business and get YOUR house in order.

To YOUR Success,

#1 Don’t Get Lost in the Shuffle

The first and most important part of the eBook internet marketing process is to make sure that your eBook addresses a specific need. Without targeting a particular niche market your marketing tactics may well be a waste of time. Because the marketplace is so broad, there are thousands of others on the ‘net fighting for their share of the same customer base that you are after. Find that niche and stick to it or get lost in the shuffle.

#2 Take It Personally

If your eBook reads like a white paper, it isn’t going to have much marketability unless your niche market is of a highly technical variety. What is Internet Marketing All About?

Internet marketing is the business that seems to attract many people. Whether it is to supply extra income or to earn a living it can provide various benefits.

You can reach anyone in the world through the internet and if you are marketing your products or services online this means a huge market to campaign to. An online business is much less costly to begin than an actual business so the profits are much higher.

Internet marketing does not mean you have to have your own products to sell. You can earn a great living by selling other peoples products. You can set up an agreement with an online merchant and being making money from selling their products.

Affiliate marketing is the most popular method of internet marketing and it simply states that a relationship between you and an online retailer or online merchant exists that allows you to sell or promote their products.

The merchant will be required to supply its affiliates with banners and any text ads that they wish to have placed on the affiliate’s site. This form of internet marketing can be very profitable. The merchant gets extra attention from various locations and the affiliates will get paid when the banner is used to direct the user to the merchant’s site.

There are various forms that an affiliate could be paid. Pay-Per-Sale would be the most common, but in some cases the affiliate would earn money from Pay-Per-Click methods. Internet marketing has come a long way and the many methods available today will benefit you with much more profit than you could earn on your own.

Internet Marketing Tips – The 16 Hour Work Month

Everybody talks about the 4 hour work week. The truth is, it doesn’t exist. Not really. I know, you’re going to show me examples of people who work even less than 4 hours a week. I’m sure there are plenty. I work less than 4 hours a week now, but I still don’t have a 4 hour work week. If you’re confused, don’t worry. By the time you’re done reading this article, you’ll understand where I am going with this.

The world loves to wrap everything up in a nice, neat, little package. That way, they can make order out of all the chaos. So, we get up at 7, have breakfast at 7:30, start work at 8, work our one hour, and then spend the rest of the day at the arcades, or wherever. We do this 4 days a week and take Friday through Sunday off. It’s all nice and neat and orderly.

Problem is, we don’t live in a nice, neat and orderly world. We live in a world of chaos where stuff happens. Do you really think that your sites are going to be up 24/7 and will never go down? Do you really think that you’re not going to have a day where you’re on the phone with your hosting company for two hours just to try to straighten out the mess? What about the email you have to write to your subscribers to let them know why they can’t access the member’s area? And what about all your JV partners who were hoping to send out a promotion to their list today? Better let them know what’s going on too.

Point I’m trying to make is simple. Stuff happens. You will have days where there is nothing to do and then you will have days where all hell breaks lose and you’ve put in a full 8 hour day. At the very least, you’ve killed 2 or 3 hours of your 4 hour work week. What are you going to do…ask the world to stop living for the next 3 days so you can have your nice, neat, orderly existence back? Good luck with that.

When you reach the point where you don’t have to work 8 hours a day everyday, you will still find that there are days when things just have to get done and they can’t get done in your one hour allotment. Yes, you may actually have to work 2 or 3 hours that day. And maybe even work 8 hours for the whole week. I work about 6 hours for 2 weeks each month. Sometimes a little longer, but not much. It all depends on what has to get done.

So do yourself a favor. If you’re striving for that 4 hour work week, please understand that it isn’t going to be as neat and tidy as you would like it to be.

Because the world just doesn’t work that way.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Internet Marketing Strategy Plans

For their websites to get noticed, businesses employ a number of marketing strategies that can help them get more people to visit their websites amidst the very competitive environment on the Internet.

However, employing some marketing strategies may not be enough. There is a need for businesses to go a step further in applying a more comprehensive set of marketing activities, which can be lumped into one effective Internet marketing strategy plan. This is because using such plans provides companies with a focused way to define their potential markets, position themselves, and increase their sales.

Things to Consider in Formulating Internet Marketing Plans

Internet marketing plans should be able to define the goals of the businesses and to set the objectives that can help them achieve these goals. For these plans to be effective, they must contain certain elements that businesses need to consider. One of the first things to consider is defining a business’s target market and to come up with strategies that are designed to serve this target market. This can include custom-fitting a website to the tastes, desires, and pleasures of a specific market. Doing so has the potential of building customer loyalty, which will keep customers coming back to a website.

Businesses also need to distinguish themselves from their competitors, especially on the Internet. This is why there is a need for marketing plans to include strategies that can give a website an edge over competitor websites. Providing additional services such as gift wrapping services can achieve this. In addition to this, businesses can also link up with other websites with products that are related to their products so that they can maximize their exposure as compared to their competitors.

Another important element that businesses need to consider is the convenience by which users can purchase products from their websites. Equipping a website with tools such as shopping carts and credit card payment processing make it easy to purchase products and build customer loyalty because of the unique customer experience they get in buying from a website.

To be able to effectively compete with other businesses that advertise online, businesses need to employ a comprehensive set of marketing strategies that make up an Internet marketing strategy plan. These plans enable businesses to take the appropriate steps to help them get maximum exposure and to help them provide the best services to their markets to generate more business and to build customer loyalty.
