Brett Mcfall – Building a List Without a Product

“A database of people can make you RICH!, a database in the key to success” – Brett McFall

With this in mind you are probably thinking, “Yeah that’s great that Brett was able to build his list with those 5 secrets but how do I do this if I have no product to my name?” Well this is in fact very easy and I can tell you exactly how to do this as soon as you have finished reading my article (or even while your reading it!). I’m sure you have heard of ClickBank?

If you haven’t it is basically a marketplace for affiliates. By this I mean that there are thousands and thousands of products listed on ClickBank ready and waiting for you to promote…and it’s completely free to do this. Let’s look at this logically, if you had a product that you wanted to sell, that you believed in but you had no way of getting traffic to the sales page, wouldn’t it make sense to get other people to promote it for you? You will then pay them a commission for doing so.

Well you are in fact going to do the complete opposite of this, ClickBank is a great way to find products to promote and get a nice commission if someone buys them, once you have sent them to the sales page. Here is the step-by-step process you will need to follow in order to build a database from scratch with no product.

1. Get a Click bank account – This is free and very easy

2. Find products on Click bank – Go to ‘marketplace’ and search for a ‘high gravity’ product preferably in a ‘mass market’ (weight loss, golf etc.)

3. Search for Articles in that market – Go to Ezine Articles and search for Articles covering your chosen mass market. There are literally thousands of Articles for any one niche.

4. Create an eBook – Create an eBook with those articles either just ‘copying and pasting’ them as they are or changing them slightly so that they become your own. If you are not intending on changing the wording you must leave the authors links in the articles otherwise you will face plagiarism claims. You can make your eBook using Microsoft Word and then convert it to PDF format using a PDF writer, there is a free one available called PDF995 (Google It!) which is highly recommended.

5. Create an account with an Auto responder – An auto responder is basically database management software that will help you build your list and automatically send scheduled emails to your list of subscribers. Amongst a million other features auto responders also allow you to create newsletters and place web forms onto your sales or squeeze pages. Once you have created your web form you must then set up a follow-up email to be automatically emailed to the customer instantly after their subscription which will contain a link to your free eBook download. The best websites for this software are GetResponse and Aweber (you really will be blown away by what these companies have to offer).

6a. Build a simple website – This can be very easy and Brett McFall in fact offers various kinds of software that can create your sales pages for you at a very affordable price. Alternatively check out the 90 second website builder on the right (click the picture) – a very useful tool for anyone lacking web design knowledge.

6b. Create a Squeeze Page – This will be a very simple page containing a web form (from GetResponse or Aweber) for visitors to enter their name and email address into (this is the list building part). The great thing is that your auto responder will automatically build your list and store your database for you once you have set it up correctly. Is it all starting to make sense? You will advertise your eBook which you made earlier giving the visitor the opportunity to receive your free eBook in exchange for their details.

7. Send Traffic to your site with Google AdWords – This is a service that Google runs where you can have your website listed on the right hand side of Google’s search listings and you will only pay when someone decides to click your ad. This is a great way of advertising your squeeze page because once you have already convinced them to click your ad it shouldn’t take much more to get them to fill in their details. Brett recommends that you only pay 10 – 13 cents per click.

8. Keep your customers informed with articles – Clearly if someone has subscribed to your newsletter or recent offers they will quickly become disinterested in your business if you are not frequently sending them some insightful and useful information. If you send them information that is of high value to them the customer will be very happy to continue their subscription and therefore you will cut down the amount of people who unsubscribe (you will get them). A simple way of doing this would be to visit Ezine Articles again and search for articles from that niche, then send 2 of those articles per week to your subscribers. Simple!

9. Promote your affiliate links – Once you have the subscribers you then need to go back to your Click bank account that you created in section 1 and grab a ‘hop link’ for your high gravity product from your chosen niche. A ‘hop link’ is a unique link that once clicked, tells the products creator you were the person who referred that customer to their site. If that customer subsequently buys their product you will receive a nice commission. Some of the commissions can be as high as 90%, and this isn’t even your product! Is that good or good?

10. Get more affiliate links – As your list grows you will then need to keep adding to this system until there are no products in that niche left to promote (this is highly unlikely to occur!). Every time just simply getting a hop link (affiliate link – this takes seconds) for a new product and emailing your list of subscribers.
