Hold a Garage Sale For Quick Cash

Holding a garage sale can be a blast and a great opportunity to turn your junk into cash. It's not uncommon for an average family to be able to make hundreds of dollars from items hidden in boxes and other places where they'll never get used. Turn your old collections and unused stuff into a windfall to boost your struggling bank account.

Garage sales are the perfect chance to clean out your basement, closets and other storage areas while also bringing some extra cash to your family. Before tossing all your unwanted items out onto the front lawn, consider an organized sale so that you get the most money for your stuff.

Take a walk around the house and gather all the items available for sale. Get the entire family involved so that you have a large enough selection to attract garage sale buyers. Be brutally honest about the contents of your closets and garage. Now is the time to get rid of anything that you have not worn in more than a year or that no longer fits. Get rid of the kids' old toys and clothes as well.

Group items together by theme or use. The best garage sales are organized. After gathering your items you should notice which are your big ticket items or collections. Are you selling a variety of designer handbags? Or maybe matchbox cars and lunchboxes are more your speed? Pay attention to the groupings and organize the items so that shoppers can easily purchase several items at the same time. Clean and spruce. Have several tables you can arrange to display the items. Then clean everything so that it has at least a gently used appearance. Do not attempt to sell items that are damaged, torn or have holes in them. Clean the clothes and then display them on a hanging rack or neatly folded for display.

Advertise your yard sale. Unless you live in a neighborhood that is famous for yard sales, you will need to advertise. This will not be as simple as placing a few posters at the end of the street. For the best results, advertise your sale in your local newspaper for the weekend of the sale. Also try listing the sale at Craigslist or other websites that will attract community shoppers looking for a deal. Tag everything with a clear price. Help your shoppers make decisions and you will not have to try to remember the price of everything. Do not expect to make a ton of money. Regardless of what you spent when you originally purchased the items, they are still used and being sold on the lawn.

Get selling and prepare to haggle. At yard sales, every price is negotiable so be prepared to be flexible on pricing. Do not attempt to manage a garage sale on your own. Get a commitment from your friends or family to help out so everyone knows their part for the day of the sale. Then remember to have fun. Holding a garage or yard sale may get you some quick cash but it will also help clean out your closets.

Kitchen Safety Tips

The kitchen is part of our daily routine. From morning to evening, we work in here to prepare and cook foods. Since it is where most of the pointed objects are kept like knives and utensils and where heating appliances are placed like the stove, it is important to keep the area safe for everyone in the family especially for children.

First safety tip is to use floorings or floor mats that are slip resistant. This will help you avoid falling with a sharp knife or a hot casserole in your hand. There is also specialized flooring like laminate and vinyl that are slip-resistant. You can have this if you like to keep the kitchen floor safe all the time. Next tip is to keep the plugs and electrical switches away from wet surfaces or water sources. Also, always keep a fire extinguisher near the kitchen.

Equip your kitchen with good lighting. This will make you and your family work better in the kitchen. Good light will keep you focused on preparing and cooking food. Give ample space for traffic. A good amount of space will avoid someone in the family interfering with your cooking or operations in the kitchen.

If your kitchen is not the type that is safe as mentioned above, kitchen remodeling Minnesota can help you. Yes, you may remodel your kitchen and put in the safety features. In doing this, the first thing you will consider is the kind of change you want. Would you like to replace the marble floor with laminate flooring? Do you want to elevate countertops or the sink? You can also think of the style you want your kitchen to have like a modern style.

Next is to consult the expert or contractor like the kitchen remodeling Minnesota. Discuss the changes you want to have with your contractor. This will make you knowledgeable on the process or length of time needed for the remodeling and the cost.

Kitchen remodeling Minnesota can also give you tips on how to make your kitchen more functional. You can visit their site on the Internet and see the testimonials of the people who kitchens became better after remodeling.

Building Stage Theaters – How Much Work is Involved?

The first is the stage designer's creative vision and the second is budget. However you must not assume that just because a play has a huge budget it is going to have a huge and complex stage and set design. The company, set designer and / or director may be taking a minimalist approach and have just a bucket on stage, for instance.

It is also going to depend on what type of set up the theater already has. Stage design goes beyond mere set design and may need to incorporate such things as seating arrangements and rostra for a stage area. In some cases, it can also include lighting design.

There are three different types of stage layout common in the west and these are 'in the round', the proscenium and the thrust. 'In the round' is when the audience is sat around the staging area so that actors are surrounded completely; the proscenium, the most common stage type, is when the audience faces the stage on one side only. The thrust is when the acting area is surrounded on three sides, commonly this extends from a proscenium stage and is often used in music concerts and is an area where guitarist can 'rock out'.

Another factor is whether the show is touring, and moving from venue to venue, or staying in one place. If the show is touring then it is reasonably to mean that the set building and stage design is kept simple and light in order to facilitate rapid 'get ins' and 'get outs'. On the other hand a large stationaryary theatrical piece can have a huge lavish set. Sometimes touring sets require a lot more energy over all as they are put up and taken down at each venue. Conversely, a stationaryary theatrical event only needs to have the stage set up once and then taken down at the end of the run.

Again the type of stage theater supplies that you will need will vary from show to show. Stage theater supplies can range from scaffolding, to hold up backdrops (common in touring productions), rostra (for creating stage areas), lights (if not available) and so on. Indeed stage theater supplies can include anything from these major requirements right the way down to the trusty old roll of multi-purpose Gaffer tape, ideal for holding sets together, stick down leads for health and safety purposes, to even holding costumes on in extreme circumstances .

As you can see the amount of work required and specific stage theater supplies varies so much from production to production that it is almost impossible to quantify. Largely it is dependent on the artistic vision of those contributing. A rather large and spectacular stage and set design can be created on a shoestring budget, whereas a production with a very minimalistic set can have a vast budget. As such the amount of work required, or not, is considerably down to careful design and planning of those involved.

5 Tips to Help Keep Your Day Less Stressful

Let's face it – our days are busy, full, and often stressful. How can we possibly find order in this craziness on a daily basis? Here are some (hopefully) helpful tips:

1) Have your day planned ahead of time. Either the day before, or right before the weekend, take five minutes to organize and plan for your next work day. Clean off your desk, and make a list of tasks that need to get done the following day, preferably in the order of priority.

2) Assign time blocks to each task. I assign each task its own approximate time block. For example, "Write blog post, 30 minutes." This helps me to keep track of how I'm spending my time, as well as to organize the multiple tasks on my plate each day.

3) Limit the number of times you read and answer e-mail. The temptation is always there to read every e-mail that arrives when it arrives – especially if you have an alarm set that lets you know each time you get a new one. Try turning off this alarm, and then stick to checking e-mail just three times a day – morning, noon, and late afternoon.

4) Take an occasional break. This is difficult for me, because I tend to get so wrapped up in what I'm doing that I do not want to stop. I do, however, know the importance of taking breaks, and am training myself to get better at it. Stretch breaks are my favorite since I sit in front of my computer for most of the day. Even just five minutes a few times each day can help both physically and mentally. Set an alarm on your computer for this one … it's definitely a good thing!

5) Have something to look forward to when your work is done for the day. Maybe you really enjoy reading, and are eager to start that great novel. Maybe you want to simply sit down and read the paper, or play with your children or pets. How about cooking a simple but great meal? Having something that helps to transition you from work mode to relaxation mode is the important thing to remember here.

Taking care of ourselves during these extremely busy times is so important. Keep these tips in mind as you go about your busy day. Your body and mind will thank you for it.

Best Bodybuilding Supplements – Protein Supplements

Bodybuilding supplements are drug-like pills that athletes and bodybuilders take to help in building muscle. As the name implies, it should be used as a supplement and not as a replacement for food nutrients. When used in combination with bodybuilding exercise and adequate diet, they will speed up the body building process. They are also used to complement the nutrients that can not be gotten easily from the diet. The best bodybuilding supplements should consist of protein / amino acid, glutamine, creatine, nitric oxide etc.

There are 2 basic types of bodybuilding supplements: exercise supplements and dietary supplements. Exercise supplements help to increase the level of nutrients in the body that can not be consumed normally. For example, creatine is produced naturally in the body but, not in adequate amounts for bodybuilders. The supplement boosts the level of creatine in the body and is enhanced by bodybuilding exercise. Dietary supplements merely help to boost the nutrients gained from food intake. They include amino acid and protein supplements.

Protein supplements are the most important. This is because proteins are required in high amounts by bodybuilders. Protein is responsible for increasing muscle mass, repairing wear and tear on tissues and also, replacing worn out tissues. It can be taken in powdered or pill forms. It is best taken immediately after working out. The importance of protein intake by bodybuilders can not be over-emphasized because their muscles constantly undergo wear and tear due to the nature of the rigorous exercises they undertake. Protein helps the muscle tissues to grow and repair themselves efficiently. Adequate protein intake also helps the muscle to withstand wear and tear. Protein supplements can be found in different forms, and they are to be taken in different forms. Whey protein is easily absorbed by the body and is best taken after working out. Casein protein is not easily digested, so it should be taken at night before going to bed. Egg white protein supplements are easily absorbed, so they can be taken anytime, during the day.

The best bodybuilding supplements are the ones that contain all these types of protein. It is known as blended protein. Amino acid supplements are also essential because amino acids are building units of protein. It can be used in place of protein supplement. Glutamine supplement is a type of amino acid supplement, that contains the body with glutamine, which is also a type of amino acid.

Barbell Training For Grapplers Made Simple!

A barbell and some plates … what could be more simple? Its probably the way you originally started your journey. Maybe it was a 5 foot exercise bar and some cement weights, but it was still just a barbell and some plates.

Back then you did not care about the latest studies and fad exercise routines … all you wanted was to get big and strong, and that one tool was your path.

Somehow along the way, we've all been kept guard by the "latest and greatest" – from late night infomercials to full page magazine ads – but it's about time we got back to REAL training. Yeah, training with just a barbell might be "old school", but in my book old school training is where it's at.

Especially for MMA fighters and grapplers, where weight training sometimes gets a bad rap, some bare bones barbell training can serve you well. Current Wake Forrest strength coach and former Ohio wrestling coach, Ethan Reeve, used to bust out his barbells after or before tough wrestling workouts so that his athletes could get in their strength work. They worked the basics – Romanian deadlifts, power cleans, front squats from a power clean, lunges and back squats with the help of a training partner, military and push presses, and bent over rows. Nothing fancy about it, but they got RESULTS.

Out of those movements, power cleans were used very heavily for power endurance. Coach reeve would have his athletes do 10 minute combo drills, where they perform a power clean, hang clean, and then another power clean every 30 seconds. Another workout was the famed 10×10 power clean routine where every wrestler on the team was expected to power clean their bodyweight for 10 sets of 10 every 2 minutes … that's 100 bodyweight power cleans in under 20 minutes!

While workouts like that might sound crazy, for Coach Reeve and his wrestlers, they were common place. They understood the value of hard work, and they knew what they could accomplish with simple training tools such as just a barbell.

So the next time you start getting drawn to the "next big thing", think about those wrestlers and remember that a barbell and some plates is plenty.

HTML Editors – How to Choose the Right One for Building Your Websites

There are lots of HTML editors on the market, however, you will want to look for one that has specific tools that will make building your websites easy, straightforward, and as stress-free as possible. Review the following requirements you should look for in an HTML editor.

Tool # 1 – Word Wrap

You want to see everything you are writing and editing so an HTML editor with word wrap is very important. If your HTML editor does not have word wrap you will have many sentences in one line of text that is really long and more difficult to edit. Also, without word wrap you will be hitting the return key a lot and it is simply easier if you have this function.

Tool # 2 – Customize

Make sure your HTML editor starts out with all of the basics but is also customizable to meet your specific needs as an editor. This will allow you to do your job exactly as you like in the order you want.

Tool # 3 – File Support

When choosing an HTML editor, you will want to make sure it supports long file names. This will pay off for you and cause you fewer problems.

Tool # 4 – Conversions

If you are working on many pages, you'll want pathway conversions included in your html editor. With this feature, your HTML editor will be able to make the conversion for you depending on UNIX, Dos, or Windows and save you both plenty of time and headaches.

Tool # 5 – Keyboard or Mouse

Some HTML editors are geared more towards a mouse while others are more geared toward a keyboard. You should decide whether you work best with a keyboard or mouse, and then choose an html editor that corresponds to your preference.

Tool # 6 – Platform

Depending on whether you use Windows or Mac makes a huge difference in the html editor you use. Basically, if you use Windows you have lots of choices and options which can make choosing more difficult. However, if you use Mac you have fewer options and will have to deal with what is available without you want to change platforms.

Tool # 7 – Budget

Your budget is also a consideration in choosing the right html editor. You may be able to spend hundreds of dollars or you may be in search of a free option. Both are available, so know what you can spend as well as what you are looking for.

Choosing an HTML editor is not easy because not of them are going to have every tool you want in the budget you can afford. However, you can read reviews and test out different editors to find the one that best fits your skills and needs.

Marketing Expos

If you run your own business and have been considering marketing services and what they might do for your company, there will be plenty to be gained from attending any of the many marketing trade exhibitions that happen all over the country and the rest of the world.

Amongst other things, these exhibitions provide a great opportunity to network and meet other people and companies that may have useful information or services to offer you. Often there are hundreds of different companies in attendance, each with multiple members of staff who will be available to discuss your business' needs.

Although stall space does not come cheaply at such events, for many companies it is an investment that will pay for itself. Businesses and individuals who can not afford the cost are often able to register and attend events of this type free of charge. Whilst certain talks and services may be reserved for paying businesses, there are often enough free seminars to make attending worthwhile.

One of the valuable purposes of trade marketing exhibits is to provide your business with marketing options that might never have occurred to you otherwise. Particularly for some smaller and medium-sized businesses without restricted marketing departments, managers and even directors may not know as much about marketing strategies as they would like. At an exhibition you can be sure that many agencies will be keen to tell you as much as possible about the potential benefits of the services they offer. You may be told to adopt a digital marketing strategy, advertise on billboards or outsource sales, to name but a few of the services often available at marketing exhibitions.

Whilst marketing agencies will vary wildly in the tone and insistence of their sales pitches, you should be aware that almost anyone you talk to at a marketing exhibition will have the same agenda: to sell you a service and make financial gains. Particularly for businesses without a strong track record in marketing, careful consideration should be made before agreeing to enter into a contract with any agency – no matter how attractive the terms may seem. We recommend delaying any decisions until after the exhibition, when a comparative assessment of the different services on offer has been made.

As well as providing businesses with an excellent forum, marketing exhibitions are often enjoyable events with many entertaining distractions. At some events you will find free massage services and even special foot spas containing Garra Rufa fish to nibble your toes clean. At others you might find a variety of free objects on offer, although it might be better to think of them as functional adverts. These can range from the cheap and useful (such as pens or calendars) to the desirable (such as memory sticks) and even the truly bizarre (such as inflatable monsters or head massagers).

Remember not to sidetracked from your business goal. If you've made the effort to attend, you probably have a purpose in so doing – and it probably is not to accumulate junk!

How Does Apartment Co-Signing Work?

The real estate market has rebounded in earnest and in some cities and counties, the demand for housing has outstripped available units. This can also be attributed by a rebound in the job market meaning more people are working. While this is good news on all fronts, it also means apartment complexes are also stricter when it comes to approval requirements and are now checking credit more vigorously than before. Applicants who do not have good credit, or those with recent evictions, foreclosures, bankruptcies or broken leases are finding it harder to get approved for an apartment, condo or town home. The answer for most has been co-signaling.

What if relatives can not co-sign?

That is perfectly okay. Today, you do not need a particular person to co-sign anything for you. There are businesses with A + credit which offer apartment co-signing services to applicants who are having trouble getting approved the traditional way because of bad credit. These companies offer their credit and financials on behalf of bad credit applicants and guarantee approval.

How does this actually work?

Getting an apartment co-signaling service is extremely easy. As we have just mentioned, there are corporations out there willing to put their credit and financials on the line to get you approved for an A + apartment. This allows the complex to bypass your credit. The co-signer approaches the apartment complex and fills out all the paperwork on your behalf guaranteeing to be responsible for the rent if you default. It's a win-win situation for the applicant.

What does one need to qualify?

The tragic fact about apartment hunting is that if you have bad credit, you can be denied an apartment even if you have a stellar income. Hundreds of families with steady jobs and an admirable income get turned down each and every day just because their credit is not where the apartment wants it to be. This can be quite frustrating given many of these families just ended a foreclosure.

All you need to qualify for apartment co-signing is a good income, preferably above $ 3000 a month (this may depend on city and state). This is because many apartment co-signing services only deal with A-rated apartments (most section 8 apartments do not participate in co-signing arrangements).

You must also be prepared to pay the co-signing fee plus the first month's rent in advance. The apartment communities require the first month's rent upfront because of the degree of risk they are taking in foregoing credit checks for the applicant. As for the fee, the co-signing company requests for a fee to allow you to use its credit and financials plus the company has to guarantee the rent for you.

Can a criminal record stop me for being approved?

There is no definite answer to this question as apartments view criminal history on a case-by-case basis. Some apartments will approve felonies as long as they do not involve domestic violence or sexual assault and as long as they are old enough. Others have a zero tolerance for any felonies of any sort. Misdemeanors other than traffic tickets are generally ignored by most apartments but there are some that can use this as a reason to issue a denial letter.
